Become a Joyologist

~Deanna Frazier ~

Believe it or not there are now people all around the world taking on the job of being a "joyologist."  These people are professionals who are trained in the art of laughter.  It is once again being discovered that laughter is good for us!

Laugh clubs are springing up all over the world. "No joke about it, laughter is becoming serious business.   People actually meet on a regular basis to get a laugh workout just as they might exercise for improved health.  Recently established national and international laughter organizations are certifying people as laughter leaders who learn specific techniques for teaching people to laugh"

There have been numerous studies that prove laughter is good for us.  It makes life more enjoyable, keeps us healthy, and in some cases has been used to help people heal from illness.

Here are some suggested laughter techniques to get you started laughing your socks off:

*    The Lion laugh: Hold your hands out in front of you and make them into claws.  Now claw at the air and roar, "ha, ha, ha," until you are laughing uncontrollably.

*    The Roller Coaster Laugh: Put your hands over your head and move them up and down in a roller coaster motion and laugh out loud as if you were taking a big dip.

Laughter is good medicine and it can help us lighten up and cheer our day.  The best laughter is the laughter that is shared with others; so don't be afraid to laugh out loud with the people in your life.

Coaching:

We take life way to serious.  It is sad, but sometimes I have to remind myself to laugh.  However, it is worth the effort to remind myself that laughing is good for me.  It is like exercise for the inside!

Daily Success Formula:
Laughter = Exercise for the inside
Quotes:

"If we may believe our logicians, man is distinguished from all other creatures by the faculty of laughter. He has a heart capable of mirth, and naturally disposed to it."
Joseph Addison

"Without laughter, life on our planet would be intolerable.  So important is laughter that societies highly reward those who make a living by inducing laughter in others."
Steve Allen

"LAUGHTER, . An interior convulsion, producing a distortion of the features and accompanied by inarticulate noises. It is infectious and, though intermittent, incurable.  Liability to attacks of laughter distinguishes man from the animals."
Ambrose Bierce

"If I have caused just one person to wipe away a tear of laughter, that's my reward.
