Donald Lee

Hello, my name is Donald Lee. I am a consecrated Christian and minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I've been married now for 2 and a half years and have no children. I'm a Beaumont, Texas, native and 1993 graduate of Grambling State University, with a B.A. degree in mass communication (with an emphasis in print journalism).

Like many Christians, I was raised up in church, but also like many Christians, I didn't have the kind of one-on-one/personal relationship with Jesus Christ I needed to have until much, much later in life (specifically, for me, the latter part of age 30 [I turned 32 on March 3]). My journalism career has taken me to such places to live as Kansas City, Mo., and Dallas, Texas, and a few other stops, as well (Guilford, Conn., and Pontiac, Mich.). Currently, my wife Sheree (a Fort Worth, Texas, native) and I live in Zachary, La., in the Baton Rouge area. I'm a copy editor and columnist for The Baton Rouge Advocate.

I also write Christian columns --- uplifting, encouraging, noncondemning columns --- in such publications as the La Vida News-The Black Voice in Fort Worth and The Weekly Press, another black paper in Baton Rouge. My columns also appear on such Web sites as "Afrikana Louisiana (in the Kingdom Works section) and Welcome to Black Texas, in addition to this lovely site here, Hearts With Soul.

My inspirations in the gospel are my pastor, Dr. Lynn Morrison Jr., of All Faiths Christian Center in Baton Rouge; Bishop T.D. Jakes of The Potter's House in Dallas; Creflo Dollar, of World Changers International Ministries, in College Park, Ga.; and Joyce Meyer, Life in The Word Ministries in the St. Louis, Mo., area.

My ministry centers on spiritually doctoring on broken people, those persons who've not been taught of the rights they have (the rights that come with their adoption into the kingdom of God, rights paid for by the blood of Christ Jesus). The Lord has graced me to be all things to all people. My favorite past time is studying the Word and the Will of our heavenly Father, God, and walking along the pathway that He paves for me daily, and teaching others how to do the same. If there's a such thing as having favorite Scriptures, mine would be 1st Kings 3:6-14 (when Solomon asks God for His divine wisdom and God gives it to Him so that Solomon could rule the kingdom God gave him wisely and with true justice); 2nd Corinthians 4:13 (which talks about believing and then speaking what you believe); Proverbs 4:7 (about getting divine wisdom and understanding); 2nd Corinthians 4:18 (which tells us to look not at the seen [trials/tribulations of life, which are temporary] but the unseen [God's manifested, eternal blessings we pray for in the midst of the storms of life]). And my other favorite Scriptures would be Ephesians (chapters 5 & 6) and Galatians (chapters 5 & 6), which add to the wisdom that it I need in the area of marriage, specifically, and in other areas of my life in general.

This is who I, Donald Lee, am. Be blessed.
